Meet the Hearts Behind Rooted Care

Meet Amira

Amira Stanley brings over 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families across senior care and intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) communities. Her work has spanned home management, direct care, and leadership roles, all rooted in a deep commitment to dignity, compassion, and individualized support.

Since 2017, Amira has also worked as a leadership coach, speaker, and author, guiding individuals through personal growth by helping them learn how to sit with discomfort in a way that promotes self-love, curiosity, and lasting transformation. Her coaching work is grounded in mindfulness, emotional awareness, and nervous system understanding—principles she naturally integrates into her approach to care.

As a certified End-of-Life Doula, Amira understands the importance of presence, comfort, and emotional safety during life’s most vulnerable seasons. Alongside her wife Brittany—who is certified in palliative care—this work is not just professional, but deeply personal.

Amira’s approach blends practical care with emotional intelligence, ensuring that every interaction honors the whole person—not just their physical needs, but their lived experience, autonomy, and humanity.

Through Rooted Care Collective, she is dedicated to bringing thoughtful, compassionate wellness services directly into the spaces people call home.

Meet Brittany

Brittany Hilker is a Master’s-level social worker (MSW) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) in Washington State, currently working toward full clinical licensure. She is the co-founder of Rooted Care Collective and is deeply committed to supporting individuals through aging, chronic illness, and life transitions with dignity and compassion.

She earned her Master of Social Work from Eastern Washington University and holds a specialized certificate in Palliative Care, reflecting her passion for whole-person, end-of-life, and comfort-focused care.

Brittany’s professional background includes serving as a Care Manager (MSW) for an in-home care agency, where she worked closely with older adults and their families to coordinate care, navigate complex health needs, and support individuals in remaining safely and comfortably in their homes. This experience gave her firsthand insight into the gaps in care—and the importance of bringing meaningful, relationship-centered services directly to where people live.

In her current clinical work as a therapist under supervision, Brittany integrates mental health care with a broader vision of wellness. Her training in family systems, grief and loss, and alternative healing approaches informs the heart of Rooted Care’s mission: providing comfort, relief, and care—right where you live.
